Travelling to Tasmania
It’s a long weekend this weekend and I decided I’d better get out of the state and see some of the family, so I’m off to Tasmania. Seeing some of the sights of Hobart and beyond. I lived in Tassie for about 14 years before moving on and out. It was a good choice, I needed the change and the last couple of years have been a chance for significant growth in my life. But Tassie is a beautiful place, and I miss how relaxing it was there, and I miss being so close to family.
Conversely I also appreciate not being too close to my family anymore! LOL (No offense meant to the family.) It just means I have to pop over fairly frequently.
Frequently means a couple of times a year, so just to tally up this will be my second visit to see the fam this year, but I probably won’t see them again until Christmas unless anyone wants to visit me here!
I love Hobart as a city, it has a lot to offer, the wharf, CBD, Salamanca, Mt Wellington are all so close together. It’s all so close together, convenient and quick! Quick as in no traffic.
The only downside is there is a significant lack of cool cafes, coffee houses and restuarants like in Melbs. That is one of the things that I miss most when I pop to Tassie. Though there is often a new place that the fam wanna take me to, which is nice. For a non-Melb living fam, we do like to go out for coffee a lot.
Anyway, that was a total ramble post! I will hopefully put up some photos sometime soon from my visit.
