Each Choice Exhibition

The 2026 collection of paintings created for Chara's solo exhibition, Each Choice, exhibited at Brunswick Street Gallery in Fitzroy, 5-22 March 2026.

Each Choice explores how identity is formed through the ongoing decision to move toward either chaos or calm. Each painting is treated as a record of these small, deliberate choices, with each layer, adjustment, and pause reflecting a moment of focus, curiosity, or playful experimentation rather than perfection.

The works offer a visual counterpoint to the speed and noise of daily life, creating spaces where viewers can slow their breath, be present, and simply notice. An invitation for viewers to consider how a life, like a painting, is built gradually through repeated, often quiet acts of attention that gently shape who we become over time.
