This painting is reminiscent of the peeling bark of a Eucalypt in the bush. Eucalyptus trees shed their bark exposing a fresh, new layer of living bark underneath to accommodate the tree trunks increasing width. I love both, that the tree does this, and that this image as a reminder to ask what we need to shed, to grow.
