I painted these tiny pieces - a vision of rose bushes in bloom with red roses - with the thought rolling through my mind that the only way to get more roses, and have a beautiful looking bush, is to prune them. Cut away parts of the bush, sometimes brutally so, and it'll come back fuller and more luscious than ever.
